We Appeal to the Government's Inaction Regarding the Involvement of US-Sanctioned Judges in Corrupt Activities

We appeal to the government's inaction regarding the involvement of US-sanctioned judges Mikheil Chinchaladze, Levan Murusidze, Irakli Shengelia, and former judge Valery Tsertsvadze in corrupt activities.

It has been a year since the USA sanctioned the aforementioned individuals for their involvement in significant corrupt activities. However, no public agency in Georgia has taken the initiative to investigate these allegations. In fact, the authorities have not only failed to respond legally to the alleged criminal activities, but they have also publicly supported the sanctioned judges. By promoting anti-Western propaganda, they are attempting to undermine the need for a transparent and accountable public investigation into these serious accusations.

The support of persons sanctioned by the "Georgian Dream" became even more visible after the authorities refused to fulfill one of the conditions of the European Commission, which involves checking the integrity of high-ranking judges of the court.

The authorities violate Georgian legislation by protecting the sanctioned current and former judges and refusing to investigate. By their inaction, they also call into question Georgia's European integration process. We call on the authorities to take legal action and initiate an investigation into alleged criminal activity by sanctioned individuals.
